Ensemble Le Muse
The “Le Muse” Ensemble is a female chamber orchestra founded in 1998. After the success of its first concert in honour of the italian’s “Womans Day”, the ensemble has begun performing on a regular basis. It is made up of noteworthy musicians from Rome and Lazio region who also collaborate with many other prestigious orchestras, often holding leading positions.
The ensemble covers a versatile repertoire from baroque to contemporary, often premiering compositions written by female composers, for exemple Maddalena Lombardini Syrmen and Agnese Pinottini, creating not only an artistic interest but also historical.
“Le Muse” have partecipated in prestigious festivals including the Viterbo Baroque Festival 2000, receving an invitation to return this year. Some of their more remarkable engagement have been at the Santa Cecilia Auditorium in Rome, the “Union” Theatre of Viterbo, the Alessandria City Theatre, the “Pietro da Cortona” Hall at the roman Capitolini Museum, the “Carroccio” hall at the roman council chambers, the roman theatre “Piccolo Eliseo” and Villa Lante in Viterbo.
In occasion of Queen Elizabeth’s 50th year of reign celebrations, the ensemble gave the italian premier performance of the Walton Sonata for chamber orchestra at the english embassy in Rome in the presence of Lady Walton.
The diversity of the “Le Muse” ensures a variety of performances ranging from small ensembles to symphonic formations. It has collaborated with numerous soloists and singers receiving public and critical acclaim. Due to its versatile capabilities “Le Muse” combined theatre with classical repertoire for a series of engagments in the theatre “Piccolo Eliseo” of Rome.
The elegant look combined with vivacius interpretations and a high quality of professionalism give a special touch to their performances. The chief conductor and manager is Laura Simionato and the concertmaster and soloist the australian-born violinist Lisa Green.

LISA GREEN
Lisa Green began studying violin at the age of six, and at ten entered the Elder Conservatorium under the tutorship of Beryl Kimber gaining her Bachelor of Music (Performance) degree with distinction in 1983. She has won numerous national competitions and has performed as soloist with the Adelaide and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras, the Australian and Queensland Youth Orchestras, the Adelaide Chamber Orchestra, as well as giving many solo recitals and guest artist appearances.
Lisa studied for two years in Cologne at the Musikhochschule with Professor Igor Ozim and later at the Bern Konservatorium fur Musik where she completed her Solistendiplom in violin with distinction. From 1987 – 1991 she studied with Salvatore Accardo in Cremona. Lisa has performed as soloist with the “Bern Symphony Orchestra”, the “Virtuosi of Santa Cecilia”, the “Lombardia Chamber Orchestra”, the “Goffredo Petrassi Chamber Orchestra”, the “European Women’s Symphony Orchestra”, the “Le Donne nella Musica” ensemble and “Le Muse” ensemble.
In 1990 in Venice, Lisa premiered three concertos by the eighteenth century composer Maddalena Lombardini Syrmen with the Chamber Orchestra “L’Offerta Musicale” and has also performed as soloist in Poland, Switzerland, England, Greece and Kenya. She has made two compact discs for B.M.G. (R.C.A.) of contemporary european chamber music, and recorded for the RAI and Vatican Radio.
In 1993 Lisa won third prize in the seventh “Michelangelo Abbado International Violin Competition” in Brescia.
Since 1997 Lisa holds one of the leading position in the “Italian Chamber Orchestra” directed by Salvatore Accardo.
